Overview

Space Weather is a mobile application that provides real-time space weather information including geomagnetic storm data, solar flare activity, forecasts, and solar imagery.

Information We Collect

No Personal Data Collection

Space Weather does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The app:

• Does not require user registration or login
• Does not collect names, email addresses, or contact information
• Does not access your contacts, photos, or files
• Does not track your location
• Does not collect device identifiers for our own purposes

Data Stored Locally

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Cache data: Space weather information is cached to improve performance and reduce data usage
• Preferences: App settings and display preferences
• Ad preferences: Ad-free unlock status (device-tied, not transmitted)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect:

• Device advertising identifiers
• IP address (for approximate location)
• App usage data
• Device information

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent before personalized advertising.

Data Sources

The app fetches publicly available data from:

• NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center - Kp index, solar flare data, and forecasts
• NASA/ESA Helioviewer - Solar imagery from SDO and SOHO satellites

These services may log standard web request information (IP address, timestamps) according to their own privacy policies.

Data Security

All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. Cached data is stored using Android’s standard secure storage mechanisms.

Children’s Privacy

Space Weather does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences interested in space weather.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date above.
